Cold Spell in Southern and Eastern Zimbabwe

Response

Monitor

Area

Southern and Eastern parts of Zimbabwe

Event description

A significant pressure rises off the south-east coast of South Africa that are expected to steer a cold and moist southeasterly airflow into Zimbabwe. Although current weather conditions show that early morning and evening temperatures are cold countrywide (below 10 °C), we expect all areas to become even colder, cloudy and windy from Friday 07 on wards (with anticipated temperature ranging from 03 to 06 °C in the mornings and evenings and highs of 13 to 23 °C in the afternoon). Light rain and drizzle is also expected now and again in the southern areas as well as the eastern highlands. Temperatures will gradually warm up to 24 °C by Sunday. Remember: Stay indoors and keep warm.
