HOW? A thick cloud is approaching the western borders of the country from Botswana. It is expected to be coupled by moisture from the south-east. This will result in heavy rainfall (exceeding 50mm) as well as strong winds in provinces such as northern parts of Matabeleland North, Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, Midlands, Manicaland, and Harare Metropolitan Provinces, effective from the afternoon ofWednesday 05 November till Friday. There is a chance offlash floods in flood prone areas, and river basins. Roads mayalso be slippery and visibility reduced by rainfall, thus requiring a need for increased braking distance. There may also be fallen trees and power-lines. Therefore, the public is advised to take precautionary measure as advised by the Civil Protection Unit.

Communities are advised to: - go inside a house of a building when lightning flashes. -avoid the use of machinery/open vehicles like tractors. -avoid open areas -avoid using taps or showers -do not go into flooded areas -follow regular updates on official msd platforms
