Climate Action for the Last Mile: Reaching the Most Vulnerable Children in Zimbabwe

Today(March 10, 2025) marked a significant step forward for Zimbabwe's vulnerable children! Hon. Dr. Sithembiso G.G. Nyoni, Minister of Environment, Climate and Wildlife, officially launched the "Climate Action for the Last Mile: Reaching the Most Vulnerable Children in Zimbabwe" project at Kuwadzana High School 3, in Harare.
This crucial initiative, generously funded by the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and implemented in partnership with UNICEF Zimbabwe, aims to safeguard 30,000 individuals, with 40% being children, from the harsh realities of climate change. We're enhancing access to climate-smart services and infrastructure, ensuring no child is left behind.
Also in attendance was the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, His. Excellency, Park Jae Kyung, Harare Metropolitan Provincial Education Director, Meteorological Sevices Director, Mrs. R. Manzou, Environmental Management Agency, Zimparks, Oxfam and Zimbabwe Sunshine Group.
