National Action-First Inception and Alignment Workshop

National Action-First Inception and Alignment Workshop

The National Action-First Inception and Alignment Workshop is currently underway in Kadoma from 16–17 July 2026, marking an important milestone in Zimbabwe's journey towards strengthening Action-Based Forecasting (ABF) and ensuring that early warnings translate into timely, coordinated early action.

The workshop has brought together stakeholders from government, humanitarian organizations, academia, civil society, development partners, the private sector, and local communities to collaboratively shape a nationally owned Action-Based Forecasting framework.

Co-led by the Meteorological Services Department (MSD) and the Department of Civil Protection (DCP) under the WISER ActionFirst™ initiative, the workshop is providing a platform to strengthen institutional coordination, identify priority hazards, validate impact thresholds, and develop Zimbabwe's National Action-Based Forecasting Roadmap.

This collaborative effort supports the country's Early Warnings for All agenda and reinforces national resilience to climate-related hazards through inclusive, impact-based, and action-oriented early warning systems.
