Dekadal Agromet Bulletin 01 - 10 March 2024

Bulletin

The highlight of the dekad was characterized by a cloud band that entered the country from the north. This was partly due to a low-pressure (vacuum) system in the Mozambique Channel (this later evolved into Moderate Tropical Storm Filipo). The moisture resulted in light isolated thundershowers in all Mashonaland Provinces and northern parts of Manicaland. This prevailed over most of the country resulting in widespread thundershowers and localized hailstorms. Notable dekadal totals were recorded in Kariba which had 62.7mm, Guruve 60.2mm, Karoi 57.4mm and Victoria Falls 32.5mm. The rest of the areas received less than 20mm.
