During the month of February 2024, a total of 20 events were recorded and analyzed, with 5 local, 14 regional and 1 tele-seismic (distant) event. The biggest local earthquake was of magnitude 4.1 and the epicenter was in Wedza. Earthquakes on the eastern side of the country are caused by the East African Rift System which runs down into Mozambique.
